Tale
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports broadcast crew is brought in to cover the hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. All believable, with hilarious acting in the right places and a pace and running time that doesn’t let you get carried away. Exit Before the Credits really interested me. They did a solid job of not telegraphing plot points. Some may find the lack of scene changes tiresome, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world, and to feel like they were there on this eventful day. They touched on the political and emotional elements well. Making you think without being preachy. The mixing of footage from the actual event, including the broadcast footage, definitely makes you more drawn into the experience. A nice touch. While it’s not a film I plan to watch again and again, it’s a very well-made piece that I recommend to friends who enjoy these types of films.
