Saw this at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival
Bhutanese culture is talked about in the media and so rarely and this documentary is a charming, sweet and interesting exploration of the happiness levels of Bhutanese citizens with great conversations between key individuals, exploration of interesting cultural aspects and an examination of the human self.
Many of the discussions of the Bhutanese individuals are interesting as it was interesting to listen to the discussions about their culture, their struggles and their selves
Filmmakers Arun Bhattarai and Dorottya Zurbo manage to capture the true essence of the Bhutanese lifestyle and deliver some really entertaining, bittersweet and touching interviews, discussions and camera work throughout.
Including singing, dancing, dialogues and everything
As the first Sundance film for this festival, this is a great start!
I would recommend it to anyone interested in Bhutanese culture
