CIA agent Joe tries to balance her personal and professional lives as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror, etc. It took me 4 episodes to really get into it. The goal was to give myself a chance to appreciate the gift we’ve been given by the many A-list actors who contributed to this production, which is, by the way, enjoyable and appreciated by many, despite mixed reviews. Many viewers have been told the story from a similar angle, but this view remains exciting here as you tackle a more complex but well-crafted plot with female leads, each of whom confidently grabs our attention as they appear. Halfway through, we can’t say if that sense of urgency as we learn more and more about what’s going on will remain at the level it is now, but given the subject matter, the budget, and the talent pool with which they were able to bring it to the screen, it’s going to be hard to miss the landing, largely because of the series’ solid foundation.
